I’m not a huge ABH fangirl. I don’t think most people need a 4 highlighter ‘glow kit’ and have been disillusioned by the number of Youtubers and IGers who seemingly receive her PR kits.

However, I am a true believer in her lip glosses. I love the only shade I have so much that it was 1 of 3 lip products I took with me on a month and a half trip to Asia. It was also the only lip product I actually wore in Asia.

When these Lancôme Juicy Shakers were first released they were featured on bloggers’ Snapchats and Instagrams constantly. Because they all seemed to be either sent to the bloggers or associated with a Lancôme beauty event I was interested in checking them out for myself.

The best thing about Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes is their finish, they’re luminous and light-catching without being shimmery or glittery. I haven’t unfortunately had the opportunity to see whether the shade range for blushes is WOC friendly. One of my first blog posts was about the holiday palette which tbh I haven’t used since I got it.

Radiant Magenta however, is a completely different story. This colour is one of my favourites for a 5 minute face. It works with all of my nude/pink lip colours and because of the finish it never looks overapplied.

This is my first travel post on this blog and if you take a moment to look around at other posts you’ll quickly gather the type of person that I am. As such you should use the info that I’m not a budget backpacker to inform this review of our trek and how much it affects your interest in doing a trek like this. But I thought I’d do a review of the trek because I hadn’t seen much update in the past few years and I thought people similar to myself would want some perspective.

Roadside stop on the way to Kalaw

Not going to lie, I originally considered this palette because of all the hype around Jaclyn Hill. I don’t follow her on Youtube but Instagram swatches can get even the best of us.

What made this trio more compelling was the results when I Google searched the ‘Blushed Copper on Dark Skin.’ Search it yourself and you will not be disappointed. It looked so good on the Black women who reviewed it that I had to see if it would work with yellower undertones.

I picked this up at Sephora for $44CAD.

Each one of these is just under 1/3 the size of a regular Shimmering Skin Perfector. You’re not actually getting much of a value (if any) but I prefer smaller pan size with greater variation because I hardly ever finish any one product.

I was a huge fan of the BITE holiday set from a couple years ago and decided that I had waited long enough to pick up another.  Three of four of the colours work well for women of colour. And I’ve heard complaints about Café from even the fairest of people, so at least we’re all suffering with an equally useless shade together.

It seems that this is sold out online but hopefully a local store still carries it if you’d like to pick it up.

The Lolita bandwagon has been such a hit for those who have light skin that it’s stayed at the bottom of any makeup I wanted to try. I was worried it would be pasty, ashy and too drying for my lips. But having tried the duo I take back all of my reservations.

I picked mine up from Sephora online although they’re supposed to launch in-store on Nov.6, 2015.

I was in Toronto this weekend and decided to pop by Holt Renfrew to check out Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation. Victoria’s Secret model Jasmine Tookes raves about it and she has the most beautiful skin so I wanted to give it a try.

This is one of many happy customer service stories I’ve had recently with Holt’s.
