COVERGIRL Lipperfection Jumbo Gloss Balm [NC45]

Many lines have churned out gloss balms and with their semi-recent popularity I wanted to share my favourite line, The Covergirl Lipperfection Jumbo Gloss Balms. I definitely prefer them over the Clinique Chubby Sticks which are a MUA favourite. And at $4.99-$7.99 (depending on where you shop) I don’t think they can be beat the price and colour selection.

The most annoying thing about the product is that they don’t have the name written on them, just the number. So good luck remembering which colour it is you really like among the 10 shades of pink. Oh and if you’re anything like me be careful putting the lid back on, or else you’ll probably nick the pencil.

So here are the arm swatches, with just their numbers. I think this is the best way to decide which of the many pinks you really want as you can see the undertones well.

These balms are perfect for an everyday, ‘girl-next-door’ look. So whether you want something subtle for a professional environment or nondescript for high school these will work perfectly as they’re pigmented but not opaque. And you can see below in the full face pics that many of the colours are quite similar, so you definitely don’t need the whole line.

Like any gloss it’s not going to be extremely long wearing. I got about 3 hours of wear, including a meal, which I consider to be pretty good. And it doesn’t require going to the washroom and perfecting your lip line when it needs to be touched up, so it’s quite low maintenance. They even serve as a lip balm in a pinch because of how moisturizing they are.

My personal favs are: Watermelon Twist, Coral Twist and Apricot Twist.

I find that especially for WOC it’s difficult to find suitable corals/oranges that aren’t too bright, which is why I love that both Coral Twist and Apricot Twist are quite flattering.

I hope this was helpful and let me know what you think of these balms!
