I’m posting about something that isn’t a product roundup or review for once. I was quite happy with how my grad photos turned out and I wanted to share them and some tips for your own.IMG_0937.jpg

In a moment of weakness I walked by the Fenty display, started swatching, and of course I ended up walking away with a thing (or two).

I’m no huge fan of Huda but even I have to admit that she makes some great makeup. The only product I’ve tried and disliked of hers is Liquid Matte Lipstick (it’s too drying!) IMG_0334

I love the variety of bold shades in this palette. It doesn’t have a black shade, which would help add dimension to any look and I also really wish there was an orange shimmery shade, but I can forgive a 9-shadow palette for that. I’m partial to monochromatic looks, placing shimmery shades on the lid and matte shadows of similar tones in the crease. So of course, I’d love to see an expanded version of this palette, with lighter and darker shadows of each colour currently in the palette, as well as corresponding shimmers. However, this little palette is definitely punching above its weight and still makes a great addition to any collection.

I noticed these on a new display at Shoppers Drug Mart and were suckered in by the shade selection. The display indicated that they were supposed to be $14.99CAD but I ended up getting them for $9.99CAD. They’re also at Walmart for $9.96CAD regularly. I looked these shades up to see if anyone had reviewed them yet, but it seems like Maybelline has recently expanded the line. I saw about 8 new shades at Shoppers all of which are not online yet and they are all nude shades. Unfortunately, I didn’t grab a picture of the display.

Fenty Beauty Roundup

You’d never know, (because I haven’t made a blog post in forever), but I actually picked up some of these Fenty Beauty products the day they launched, even though I had to pay an absurd amount for them in Europe. Of course I promptly lost my lip luminizer and between travelling and school, haven’t a chance to blog it. Still, I hope this is post will be of some use to you.

I received this product for free as part of an Influenster campaign. I was excited to try it out as I don’t have much experience with Clarins’ skincare. With the exception of a couple products I tend to think Clarins is aimed at an older demographic and their packaging isn’t particularly appealing to me.

I picked up a Huda Beauty lip kit which included: two mini Liquid Matte Lipsticks in Famous and Vixen and a full-sized Lip contour in Vixen during the fall VIB sale. I thought it would be a good/reasonably priced way to try out the Huda Beauty line. However, Sephora doesn’t appear to stock these nice little kits anymore. Instead, you can purchase Huda’s full-sized versions of the Liquid Matte Lipsticks for $26cad and the Lip Contour Matte Pencils for $25cad.
